Rick Reppert came and asked up to help with the challenges of space in their Class A RV. This is the transcript of RV Extension Table Customer Review Video

RV Space problem

Our Rv was remanufactured in the dining area. The table itself is too wide. When my wife is trying to fill the refrigerator and packing for camping, she must squeeze through the small space between the table and kitchen counter. She is hitting her hips on the table all the time. We could not downsize the table because we need that size of table. So, we were looking for someone to be able to first of all match the quality of the woodwork that matches the coach itself and second of all to have an extendable table. We came to Georges, and they came up with a solution.

RVs packed so tightly

It turns out that this is a common problem, especially in the new coaches, they are built so tight. They pack everything into the space that they have. The trouble is, they try to put too much stuff in. When you are trying to get back in the area you are trying to pack, you find out you have to wiggle your way back. However, you need the larger table for when someone is camping with you. If someone is sleeping on the sofa in the front and they need to get back to the bathroom, it is a problem that we often have.

Georges designs solution

Georges was nice enough to design something that will work excellently for us and matched the quality of the woodwork. This coach was remanufactured in California. This booth itself was good quality but the table was nowhere near the quality of the woodwork in the coach. We are very thankful to Georges. They did a very nice job.

First find out about Georges?

We were here about 20 years ago and bought a lamp. Purchased an expanding table that could seat 12 people so that we could seat our children and grandchildren for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We don’t have enough space in our house to fully extend the table, but we have 6 leaves and can seat 12 people. I really like the quality of craftsmanship that they have at Georges. First rate. You talk to these people, and they are more and willing to help you. It is built to last and last and last. Top Rate.

Process like for you?

First of all, we called to make sure Georges was available when we were in the area camping. We met Anthony and he sat down with us, and he said, “We will be able to do this”. There were some things that we needed to work through like keeping the existing pedestal, and need for extensibility yet space to be able to pass through with the slides in.

We worked the details, received a quote and I brought in my RV. They said it would take a week. With my schedule I could not get back right away. So, it stayed here for 2 weeks. So, we found a date when we could come out and pick up our RV and now, we are going to go and enjoy our RV.

A safe place to park the RV?

Yes plenty of space to park the RV, plenty of room to get in here, and they are a member of Harvest Host. Harvest host site A Georges FurnitureIf you want to come for a tour, you can come bring your motorhome, a travel trailer, or your 5th wheel. They will be glad to give you a tour.

Interviewer: We had several Harvest Host’s visit us. Our woodshop and showroom is located in Lancaster County, PA on a 12 acre lot that is out in the country, surrounded by cornfields.

Some of our guests have seen hay being cut and baled up and learn a lot about the Lancaster County culture that we have here. Plenty of space maneuver a RV’s. We have tractor trailer trucks that deliver our raw lumber and charter buses that come for wood shop tours.

Oh! You don’t have to worry about noise when you are sleeping. We came into Lancaster County during rush hour. If you listen closely, this is the most that you will hear. (Birds singing) This is “Lancaster County rush hour”. When we put the slide out that’s the most noise you will hear except those birds singing.

Built and Signed by One Craftsman

Interviewer:  Let’s tour the property a little bit. Here is the showroom. The red building is where we build our furniture. A unique thing about our furniture is that each craftsman will build one piece of furniture from start to finish. We work with the customer to learn their exact desires and needs for the RV.

New Extending Table Revealed

Now we are going to see what the new RV extending table looks like. We are going to keep the slides in to see if there is space for Mrs Ruppert to move around while she is packing up her RV. Here she is with her new table. Look at the space!

“Now I don’t have to turn sideways to pass between the table and kitchen counter. The table corner is round so that I won’t hit my hip,” commented Mrs Reppert.

Water Resistant finish

Once the slide is extended out, the table is extended. See the craftsman signature on top of the center leg and notice the water resistant clear finished is protecting the cherry wood. A 24” leaf is inserted.

How many people can you seat?

We have two foldable seats that we have under the bed that can go right here and we can have a third one here. So now we will be able to have two, four, six people here instead of just two people. The most important thing was the clearance between the table and counter.

Where you will store the leaf?

“I think I will put that back in the closet”.

Interviewer: It is good to have our table leaves stored upright with air circulation.

6 people comfortably around the table.

This will sleep one person on the couch, two people on the couch bed and one in the table area. So, if we had all those people here, we could have six people around the table.

“It is excellent work. Wonderful.”
