Ginny searched for quality furniture and began her journey on the internet looking for PA furniture maker. One of the first businesses to appear was a furniture maker in Lancaster County. Handmade, solid hardwood, made to order caught Ginny’s attention. After reviewing the website, the decision to take a trip from New Jersey to Georges Furniture brought them to a family-owned business nestled in the cornfields of Lancaster County.
Wheelchair accessible
Upon arriving at George’s, Ginny was greeted with a friendly face, eager to help. She experiences businesses in a different way. Ginny’s cheerful personality blesses those around her even though she is wheelchair bond. George’s showrooms are wheelchair accessible with a small ramp to the main showroom and ground level for the second showroom (Lower level of woodshop). The showrooms provide space between furniture displays to navigate and see the quality of handcraftsmanship. The bathroom in the main showroom is handicapped accessible. The woodshop tour is on the level with a small hill leading up to the shop entrance.
Dried – Handcrafted – Protected
Mike and Ginny enjoyed their purchases over the many years. A corner shelf and towel rack first appeared in their home. Then Mike gave dimensions for a bookcase TV stand. Each heirloom quality furniture is custom made from cherry, walnut, oak and hard maple wood that is dried properly, handcrafted and protected with a water-resistant finish.

Favorite masterpiece
Their beloved piece is the non-tipping rocking chair. It is not too heavy, has a long rock and chases away the stress of a long day. They enjoyed looking at all the different stain colors and choosing the best color for their home.

Informative woodshop Tour
A favorite part of their experience with Georges Furniture is the wood shop tour. Very informative. Loved seeing how the furniture is made. Will never look at furniture the same again. They learned how one craftsman picks out the requested type of wood, planes, joints and sands the wood to create a masterpiece. Then protects with a clear coat of water-resistant finish. Each piece is also signed and dated the artisan.
